THE SABRE APPEAL
Once again we are forced to make an appeal for help, this time for Sabre. Sabre arrived at the kennels in early March. He never really settled into kennel life and found it difficult to cope. He had a very poor appetite and we had to try various different foods to help him keep up his strength. Unfortunatley he became ill and, on the 8th of March we took him to the vets where he was prescribed anti-biotics and special food.
His treatment did not work and he made 3 subsequent visits to the vet, his last on 20th March. Sabre was hospitalised over the Easter weekend and he underwent numerous tests and x-rays but, despite the best efforts of ARAS staff and the vet, Sabre died on the 25th of March.
The final bill for his treatment was in excess of £1000 which has been an enormous strain on our resources at a time when the loss of Sabre was hard enough to bear.
We are a dog rescue organisation with over 30 dogs in our care awaiting new and caring homes. Sabre was not lucky enough to experience the happiness that a caring family can bring to dogs like him but we continue our work and the payment of large vets bills is always a strain on our limited resources and, if unpaid, could prevent us from continuing the work we do. ARAS is run entirely by volunteers and financed entirely by donations and the generosity of the people who rehome dogs from ARAS. Any help you are able to give to assist would be very much appreciated.
Donations toward the Sabre Appeal can be sent to either of the following addresses. Cheques should be made payable to ARAS Dog rescue:
Mrs D M Scott, 73 Curlew Crescent, Brickhill, Bedford, MK41 7HY
or
Mrs J Ellison, 51 Whitebeam Close, Kempston, Bedfordshire.
THANK YOU
